Jeez I got some time to myself….

So sorry I haven’t had a chance to get back to you guys earlier…. the days before the project launch were 24/7 activity, with DJs coming forward thick & fast asking about the project. Launching an idea worldwide in such a short period of time……every day has been an important lesson.

We’ve had to watch & listen, see how we were progressing….but, most importantly…see just how the life of the project was actually growing &  taking its own direction & activity.

It soon became clear that the way it was succeeding most, was with the DJs themselves.

DJs were definitely the ones that were the most enthusiastic and also are the free-est to decide what they wanna do, where & when. However…… DJs, just by that very fact……. are the most difficult to keep track of….. I had expresses of interest from loads, but where they were doing it? When? I had absolutely no idea!

All I can say is that I know it happened in Berlin, Amsterdam & Holland, London,Brighton (of course), Memphis, Portland Oregon……. Where else? Well, rumours of Warsaw & the South of France…. more news as it arrives…… It’s gonna be like herding cats but I’ll try to get as much data in as poss.

Seriously considering our next moves…..they are ambitious…. do you expect anything else? We’ll be weighing up whether to keep it low key and just move forward organically, or put out another big push… things have to be seriously considered at this stage, there is a proposed date for activity on Sept the 21st.

One thing’s for sure though…. some people are talking about making Feel The Dream a regular night, that’s the way we see it in Brighton & the feedback from Amsterdam seems the same… waiting to hear back for more ideas.
Keep coming back to the site for more details for upcoming events & mixes that are coming in, As for more big ideas, we’d like to talk with you….the more of you there are, the more feedback we get & the more likely we’ll pull it off. Won’t say too much about what we’re thinking…..but you can betcha, if it looks do-able…..no-one’s done anything like it before, it’ll be global & we’ll put every heartbeat into making it happen .

We are doing something no-one has done before, there is no rule book to read & all the feedback we have received is that it’s the DJs (obviously enough) that are leading it. It’s grassroots, it’s happening all over the world.

It’s very difficult for us to know exactly where & when over this weekend across the Globe, that each event will happen, the time is from start of play Thursday night, through to Sunset on Sunday.

It could be at a club near you so we are asking DJs who want to take part in the experiment to simply print the following message to give out on the door & just work the MLK mix into a climactic part of their set.

Yup… that’s the mantra… & jeez it’s funny when it starts really kickin in… traipsing around Brighton getting organisational formalities set up & then go on to talk with … well we think the best club in town, response great, more to come…… then get home & get online & get these feeds coming in from Memphis… ( Saturna is … oh dammitt, just go to myspace & be her friend!), California, Texas, New York….Penzance….. Tunisia !!!! Big thanks to Charlie from the Urban Prankster Network too… straight up guy! Also to Danny Rampling for his support & advice, which is turning out to be very wise.

Black point? Pissed off a formerly good friend who said I was spamming her, what’s that they say about making omelettes?

Still, with just that exception, everybody has been so great…. but with the clock ticking away the moments which make up another crazy day, boy does your adrenalin gland get to know its function!?!? Went to bed last night thinking (uncharacteristically for me) ‘God…. this IMPOSSIBLE!’ Woke up feeling (uncharacteristically for me) just the damed same…. kick start with a caffeine drip…. before you know it you’re balancing two phones, typing an email and furiously re-arranging appointments.

Tomorrow we’re updating the main hub, www.feelthedream.org… I know it’s a bit fuzzy wuzzy right now, but it was a case of publish & be damned. We’re overhauling it though….. so you might errr understand what we’re on about !!!????!!!;) Check it out & check in, all will become clearer & clearer. Facebook page seems to have suddenly doubled in size. Go deh!

Righteous Knockside

So, a coupla weeks on and the roller coaster effect is kicking in! Every day brings another move forward, another challange, another ‘how the fuck’re we gonna do this?’ thought & another solution. Sorry guys but this weekend is the first time I’ve had a chance to sit at a keyboard and get it out !

Feedback has been nothing but positive with encouraging signs of activity lined up for houseaddict.com , Amsterdam, London, we’re hoping Berlin, Ibiza & obviously our home turf in Brighton…. Want to get more feedback from the States.

BM-Soho Records putting the word out to all the DJs that shop there. Names being contacted as we speek…and we got a top PR company onboard brainstormin all through Friday …. there’s so many other things… you’ll know first as they happen.

Getting solid feedback from Danny Rampling ‘you have the right idealism mindset’ & Larry Heard’s blessing on the project has been really well… welcome … just trying to get the message out is the real challenge right now…but it will be done. Danny shares with us his lamentation of the banning of Righeous Knockside from Facebook… but RK’s time will come… our kind shall rise

Decided we at least owed you a goddam mix of our own, so sat down with J-Me Griffiths (Synthetik Voices, ex Hybrid) and put together our very own hour long version, running from ‘Back to My Roots’ through a series of classic ‘88 style & more contemporary chewns buildin’ up the vibe to Larry ’s classic ‘I Have A Dream’ as the climax…. but of course…. It’s there groovers … on our site & our myspace. Chooons!……but c’mon guys… do something better, we’re open to every interpretation.

Now we want a proper Brighton posse & are thinkin up ideal venues…

Gotta eat…. gotta go….more to come.
